Our founder, Frank Monahan, is a children’s book author himself, and saw an amazing opportunity for an author just like you! Not only to be represented by a professional publisher, but to make your books available front and center at our distribution partners selling sites.

This is an opportunity to see your book in print and available to children everywhere immediately! And you don’t have to pay to have a single book printed.  Additionally, you would make a great percentage in royalties every time your book is sold.

How it Works:

The way the program works:

• You would simply read, review, and sign our publishing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU); attesting that you are the copyright holder of your book.
• Pay a one-time administrative fee (per title)
• Your book will receive a new ISBN number issued by publisher KidLitPress, a Library of Congress Control Number, and we’ll begin printing your book.

Printing is done through our own commercial printing partner (the books are very high quality and FYI, are not printed by CreateSpace, which is not accepted at most stores).

It’s important for you to know that your copyright and creative control remains yours at all times through the process.

As soon as your book is officially published by KidLitPress, you will receive a list of locations either by email or online.  You can then choose the locations you want your book(s) to be sold!

Why it Works:

We have partnered with pediatricians, children’s hospitals, and veterinary offices all over the country to display your books along with no more than 15 other titles at any one location.

Your book would be one of only up to 16 titles for prospective buyers to see and purchase.  It would be similar to the Best Sellers table at the front of Barnes & Nobles and bookstores everywhere.

Your book would be the focus, and in places where parents would easily see the value and buy…in a waiting room with their kids!

Q:  How do I get started?  

A:  It’s really pretty simple…you would simply read, review, and sign our publishing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which essentially attests that you are the copyright holder of the book, pay a one-time administrative fee of $295.00 (per title), and your book will receive a new ISBN number issued by publisher KidLitPress, a Library of Congress Control Number, and we’ll begin printing your book.

Q:  Are there any other fees?

A:  All of the books in this program will be in 8” x 8” format to fit our special selling displays, so if your book needs to be re-formatted, there is an additional $100 fee for graphic artists time and skill.

Q:  What happens once my book is published by KidLitPress?

A:   As soon as your book is officially published by KidLitPress, you will receive a list of locations either by email or online.  You can choose the locations your book(s) will be sold.

Each location you choose will cost $1.00 per title displayed…so if you choose to display and sell your book at 20 locations each month, you would pay KidLitPress $1.00 per location, or $20 per month.

Q:  How do I get paid?  

A:  Every book we sell for you will cost the buyer $10, and you would receive $3.00 royalty for each book sold.  So, to carry out the example further, if you had 20 locations and sold 20 books per location per month, you’d receive a royalty payment of $1,200.00 for that month after paying just $20 for the 20 locations.
